Our Films

Our first film, The Atom Smashers, studies the intersection of science, public policy, American culture, and the human drive for understanding. By following scientists with a chance to make the discovery of a lifetime at Illinois' Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), this documentary follows the biggest questions in physics through tunnels buried beneath gentle native grasses and buffalo herds.

Our current film, The Believers, continues our exploration of how science intersects with culture by asking what happens when the belief that science could save the world collides with the laws of nature, the demands of the media, and the relentless scrutiny of mainstream science.  Slated for completion in late summer of 2011, The Believers tells one of the strangest stories of modern science, full of mystery, scandal, personal tragedy, and scientific wonder.
